Cloud data center solutions not only provide results for optimized physical infrastructures, but also enable organizations to be more responsive, improve operational efficiency and increase strategic relevance to their business. TMCnet was there this week to report on all the latest cloud data center news. Here are a few highlights:
On the heels of adding a fifth virtual data center and teaming up with Arrow Electronics (News - Alert) to offer virtual data center (VDC) services, Interoute has launched Interoute CloudStore, a converged compute and network platform, appliance marketplace and education center for enterprises seeking scalable ICT infrastructure.
CloudStore combines a scalable network, compute and storage infrastructure with all the necessary appliances needed to run an IT environment, according to Matthew Finnie, CTO at Interoute. To read more about CloudStore, clickhere.
In other cloud data center news, Vodacom (News - Alert) Business Services, the enterprise division of Vodacom Group, recently launched a new cloud solution that will provide businesses in South Africa with an option outside of an on-premises private branch exchange (PBX (News - Alert)). The company has rolled out an IP PBX solution hosted in the Vodacom Data Center that offers all the features of a traditional PBX.
As such, the new solution allows users to exchange internal calls within a company while still sharing external lines through a switchboard, while being highly secure and scalable to the needs of growing businesses.
If you are looking for an infinite storage device that takes all the data in without ever warning of capacity, look no further.
Bitcasa, a provider of infinite and secure storage across all devices, has launched Infinite Drive, which works with iOS, Android (News - Alert), Mac desktop, Windows Desktop, Windows RT and the Web. Bitcasa not only provides unlimited storage to its users; it also makes transferring files from one PC to another pretty simple. It also works on numerous devices such as PCs, phones, laptops and many other types of devices that can store and play data.
