The integration of mobile and cloud computing is rapidly winning the argument as to why the average person would need a PC or even a laptop. While they can be used for multiple things, users can complete these tasks with capable mobile device connected to the cloud. One company furthering the argument on the side of the mobile device is Movik and its cREACH solution; the industry’s first cloud enabled end-to-end intelligent Radio Access Network (RAN) deployment lifecycle solution.
Currently the system is being tested on a trial basis with several mobile operators moving their data to the cloud. It will give operators who are sharing their network at the cellular level bandwidth-on-demand on different networks and access to user data with actionable intelligence. Further, the cloud will give them the ability to manage their own network and infrastructure and provide services based on access to the network as well as the data stored within it. New services for monetization can be created with custom tailored solutions for individuals and organizations that have particular needs.
The cREACH solution allows operators to use virtualization and clustering technologies by adopting the layout of the operator network for a combined cloud-based RAN viewpoint of the core data center.
It allows networks to:
- Bring together a time series of what is taking place across different platforms – 3G/4G, LTE, WiFi (News - Alert) offload – services and content no matter how the network is designed or distributed
- Generate real-time actionable events by recognizing affiliations between different network technologies
- Speed up total network planning in order to bring new services as well as problems to solutions by reducing the time frame from weeks to minutes and even seconds
- Simplify new relationships by tapping into other data feeds (OSS feeds, PM statistics, Customer Care, etc.)
- Gain insight into real-time analytics
"Movik's cREACH is the only network based cloud solution in the industry that is singularly focused on helping operators monetize their networks. Mobile operators have spent billions building networks and providing services to consumers that have now become part of everyday life. Our mission as a company is to empower operators with the ability to look at the network in real-time and deliver actionable information that enables them to maximize the user experience, preserve network resources, and better serve their customers. Operators want business value, not more boxes," said John St. Amand, CEO, Movik in a statement.
The importance of customer interaction is bearing fruit for customers who make the effort to engage them and use the data they provide to create better services, products and deliver the best QoE (Quality of Experience). Being able to access the data on one’s own network in the cloud anytime gives an organization access to data that will allow for changes in the course of a product introduction or a marketing campaign when and if change is required instead of waiting and losing large amounts of capital.
