It was a busy week in the Cloud Data Center sector. Here are some of the major stories from TMCnet.
Intelliverse announced that its partner program will now include cloud-based communication solutions. The latest offering from Intelliverse (News - Alert) includes IntelliBuzz, a social media analytics and management solution, and IntelliConnection, a lead-generation solution designed to mitigate cold calling. The new service will now be a part of the company’s Cloud Telephony suite of Interactive Voice Response, Automatic Call Distribution, and IP Telephony services.
In another story, IBM Big Data analytics was chosen by The Cheesecake Factory chain to deliver a high-quality experience to its guests. The Cheesecake Factory has more than 175 restaurants in the United States and runs three locations in the Middle East. The famous restaurant looks to analyze data to gain better insight into how to serve guests in a more effective manner.
TMCnet also reported that Microsoft Corp. has joined The Open Data Center Alliance (ODCA) as a contributor. Microsoft (News
- Alert) is known for its cloud services and data center solution delivery through the Windows Azure cloud platform.
Also, TMCnet’s Jacqueline Lee reports that SAP AG and Portugal Telecom (News
- Alert) have extended the availability of solutions created on the SAP HANA Cloud platform through SmartCloudPT. For Portugal Telecom (PT), the move supports its decision to switch its strategic focus to data and the management of big data.

Radware rounds out the week, having recently rolled out an integrated and comprehensive solution named DefensePipe, which roots out volumetric DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks that can saturate a customer's Internet pipe.
