A White Label Sync and Backup Service Built for Channel Partners

Value-added resellers just got a new service to sell their customers: all-in-one sync and file backup.

Sharing and backing up files in the cloud have traditionally been separate services. Sync services such as Dropbox (News - Alert), OneDrive and Box are good for sharing and sync, but not appropriate for large-scale backup in many cases. On the other hand, backup services such as CrashPlan, Carbonite and Mozy are optimized for backup but have less than stellar (or nonexistent) sync and share functionality. Businesses typically must buy into two services.

VARs now can offer both sync and backup as a single service, however. That’s because Intermedia (News - Alert) has recently added data backup features to its sync and share SecuriSync service for channel partners.

SecuriSync can be rolled out as part of Intermedia’s Office in the Cloud, as a stand-alone service, or in addition to Office 365 as additional file backup and sharing capabilities.

Not only does SecuriSync roll together both sync and backup, it also is built with Intermedia’s channel partners in mind. SecuriSync can be sold as white label under different brand names, and channel partners can fully control pricing, billing, bundling and other elements of the customer relationship to fully make the service their own. This is in contrast with branded solutions such as Dropbox or Office 365.

Channels partners also can receive support from Intermedia’s partner program, which offers partners sales assistance, on-boarding support, marketing campaigns-in-a-box and other features built for VARs.

The addition of backup functionality to Intermedia’s sync services actually was driven by feedback from the company’s more than 6,000 active channel partners, according to the company. Make no mistake: SecuriSync was built for VARs from the ground up.

“SecuriSync now bridges this gap with a single, cost-effective tool for using, managing and protecting user files,” said Michael Gold, CEO of Intermedia. “We make it easy for partners and customers to migrate all of their users from separate backup and file sharing services with migration assistance.”
