Intermedia Continues Global Expansion

One way to keep growing in a crowded marketplace is to get out of your own way. Another suggested method is to expand your horizons, and that’s apparently what Intermedia (News - Alert) is doing.

Intermedia is a company that bills itself as a one-stop shop for cloud business applications, going beyond unified communications to encompass a wider breadth of fundamental IT services, delivered by a single provider. To that end, the company has launched a new datacenter in Sydney, Australia, making it the 12th facility for the company globally.

Along with the opening of the datacenter, the company announced it has also partnered with security provider Manage Protect, to provide security (obviously), collaboration and mobility offerings for local businesses, providing a platform and local support for channel partners.

“We're very excited to team up with Intermedia and work with its partner base," said Manage Protect managing director, Andrew Johnson, noting that the Sydney datacenter offers a technology platform and through Manage Protect's additional offerings, greater market opportunities for partners across the country. "Intermedia and Manage Protect share a common goal and commitment to Cloud technology to MSPs and resellers across Australia and New Zealand. We look forward to the opportunity to serve and grow Intermedia’s local partner base,” he added.

As per the terms of the partnership, over the next month Intermedia's 400 trans-Tasman partners will join Manage Protect’s own 400 partner base, migrating to Manage Protect's partner program.

Intermedia senior VP of business development, Bob Leibholz, said the partnership will enable Australian-based 24/7 support for Australian and New Zealand resellers including local pre-sales, technical and billing support, and partner management services.

"It made perfect sense to partner with a leader like Manage Protect," Leibholz said. "With 12 datacenters worldwide and over a million paid users, Intermedia is well-positioned to continue expanding our global reach while delivering premium localized support to our valued partners."
