Cloud IT Week in Review: IDaaS, IndependenceIT and NetGen Communications
July 16, 2016
This week, Cloud IT news focused on how proper cloud management can make a difference in several aspects. Now that it’s the weekend, let’s take a look back at the past couple of days.
The week began with special guest Aaron Perry, president and founder of APTEC, a subsidiary of Cyber Risk Management, weighing in on how the IDaaS evolution helps manage the risk of a digital transformation. Nowadays, companies are managing identities and access both on-premises and in the cloud – meaning they are running a “hybrid” enterprise (whether they realize it or not). Perry discusses this trend: “At a time when companies are making significant investments into digital transformation projects such as cloud migration, the market is steering toward IDaaS as the next required step to help these companies reduce their exposure to risk that comes from disjointed, ad hoc identity and access controls that can quickly fall outside of compliance and policy requirements.” He goes on to discuss the momentum toward IDaaS and how to know if your company should make the transition. Meanwhile, IndependenceIT’s (News - Alert) new adaptive cloud management platform is bringing new option to IT. We all know that the cloud is an innovative, desirable property that offers gems like video conferencing, storage options and a vast number of other tools. However, the number of features offered by the cloud makes managing it a bit difficult. IndependenceIT wants to improve on this management issue with its Adaptive Cloud Management Platform, CMP+. The general availability of CMP+ to IT departments, independent software vendors (ISVs) and service providers should give them new options in offering services. NetGen Communications, a developer of wireless private branch exchanges and access gateways, rounded out the week by announcing the beginning of its marketing partnership with New Rock Technologies. New Rock Technologies is a similar company that manufactures its own voice-over IP (VoIP) gateways and IP-based private branch exchanges. The two have come together to create the YoubquITy cloud-based infrastructure, which allows enterprise customers to manage their NetGen Communications hosted networks and provision new devices in the network. You can get all the details on this new product and what its implications are HERE.
That’s all for the Week In Review! Make sure to check out Cloud IT’ and come back next week for the latest news. Enjoy the sunshine and beautiful weather this weekend!
