Happy Saturday! This week in Cloud IT we saw a variety of topics covered.  Whether you’re interested in commerce cloud, speech recognition, mysteriously disappearing emails or encryption, there’s something for you. With that in mind, let’s take a look back at this week’s happenings.

Aria (News - Alert) Systems started off the week by providing Pitney Bowes with a complete cloud-based monetization tool that will serve as the company’s primary billing mechanism, making it a complete subscription-based system. Pitney Bowes’ Commerce Cloud system was already poised to offer an array of services to its users, ranging from shipping and mailing tools to ecommerce operations and customer information management, according to TMC’s (News - Alert) Steve Anderson. Now, with Aria Systems’ monetization tool, they can profit even more from this platform. You can find all the details on this topic HERE.

Speaking of the cloud, anyone who checks their email even semi-regularly has likely experienced the odd phenomenon where messages disappear, despite the fact that you may not have deleted said emails. It proves to be incredibly annoying if you were purposely saving that email then, when you go to refer back to it, POOF—it’s gone. So what’s going on? TMC’s Laura Stotler has information from Intermedia (News - Alert) regarding why this happens and how to stop it HERE.

The future looks bright for speech recognition technology. According to TMC’s Michael Guta,  SayIt, the speech recognition solution from nVoq, “provides solutions for different industries to address their specific needs, including enterprises, healthcare, field services, customer care, legal and law enforcement. The cloud-based system supports dictation and voice-automated command and control to provide hands-free access to computing devices and converting spoken words into action for each industry.” To learn more about what SayIt has to offer, check out this article.

TMC’s Laura Stotler rounded out the week with news on what could happen if you don’t ensure proper encryption. She acknowledges that encryption has become a priority, and a lack of proper precautions can affect a variety of industries, including everything from the healthcare sector to finance and manufacturing. According to Intermedia, if these industries don’t take the proper precautions, there can be some serious consequences. You can find all the details HERE.

While some diverse topics have been highlighted here, that’s certainly not all that went on this week. Be sure to head to Cloud IT for all the updates, and come back next week for the latest insights. Have a great weekend!
