CDW Eases Burden with New Cloud Planning Services

While most businesses these days are at least somewhat interested, if not outright eager, to put cloud-based technology to work, sometimes figuring out the best way to do so can be a challenge on par with the worst of them. That's where CDW (News - Alert) comes in with its new line of cloud planning services.

With CDW Cloud Planning Services, as the package is known, potential cloud users can learn more about the cloud in general, but also more specific topics better related to how a user plans to put the cloud into play. A set of consulting services, diagnostic systems, and similar matters can even help businesses who want to use the cloud, but are unsure of how to go about it, better figure out the earliest planning stages.

Services range from one-day seminar sessions for those who have simpler needs, to seven-week workshop engagements that cover the entire gamut of cloud operations. Starting at the basest level is Cloud 101, a simple, one-day overview of cloud, including market trends, as well as an analysis of the overall cloud environment a business is operating.

Cloud 201, meanwhile, takes a week to look more closely at the user's operations to determine the best course of action. This includes a list of applications and services that might prove most useful overall. Cloud 202 steps that up to a three-week cycle of total cost of ownership (TCO) and beyond. Finally, Cloud 301, a seven-week cycle, runs down the most specific needs and applications, representing the most thorough, exhaustive outlook.

CDW's senior manager of cloud client services Mitch Raskovich commented, “With more than 15 years of professional services experience, CDW is a distinguished leader in helping organizations get the most out of IT solutions, and now we’re expanding that core competency to cloud planning. Combined with our extensive cloud resources and solutions, CDW Cloud Planning Services provides customers with solutions that are quickly ramped with defined outcomes to drive planning and implementation.”

Benefits of the cloud have long been known, particularly when it comes to doing more and saving money in the process. That golden combination of profit drivers—reduced expenses and improved revenues—is a prime target for any business. Yet this doesn't happen in isolation; you can't just buy a box, plug it into the wall and suddenly see profits go up. It requires planning and execution, and may not happen overnight. That's where CDW's cloud education comes into play, delivering that last critical component to make sure all these new cloud systems deliver the most value.

Cloud systems can have a lot of value for businesses, but only when used in the right way. CDW's cloud education can go a long way toward determining what that right way is and how to go about achieving it, making it a valuable proposition for businesses eager to take advantage of the cloud.
