E911 solutions from eTelemetry reportedly offer location information for Multi-Line Telephone Systems that the National Emergency Number Association recommends as model legislation, according to the company.
Officials from eTelemetry (News - Alert) also say that the company’s solutions provide the location discovery technology that NENA calls for in emerging bills.
NENA looks to improve the technological advancement, availability and implementation of a universal emergency telephone number system. NENA has partnered and led a number of initiatives to advance the deployment and enhancement of wireless E911technology. The institute has worked the General Accounting Office and its own Strategic Wireless Action Team to forecast and report needed actions to improve the deployment of wireless E911.
According to NENA, most of MLTS systems only provide the physical street address of a business. This means that if the caller cannot provide his or her exact location, there is no way to provide him quick help as it does not provide information about building, floor or room number.
“eTelemetry’s E911 products provide vital location information, including building, floor, and room number, for a person who dials 911 from an MLTS. Millions of Americans work and study in environments with MLTS?states that implement NENA’s recommended legislation will save countless lives. We are proud to provide this essential service,” said Ermis Sfakiyanudis, eTelemetry’s president and chief executive officer.
With the help of screen pop to a desktop, email, or SMS, eTelemetry’s Locate911 (News - Alert) Emergency Notification System can alert multiple internal personnel of an emergency call. In these On-Site Notification alerts, the caller’s name, location, and even a floor plan of the premises are available.
In December last year, as TMCnet reported, eTelemetry entered into an agreement with Conveyant Systems for the resale and integration of their products. The synergy created by this partnership would enable the company to deliver complex yet affordable solutions, primarily designed around Conveyant’s (News - Alert) offerings in 911 and emergency notification solutions and services.
