Lightower Announces Expansion of Services in Telx's Clifton Colocation Facility

Telxhas announced that Lightower Fiber Networks, a metro fiber network, bandwidth, and colocation service provider serving the northeast United States, is expanding their network services into the 100 Delawanna Ave. colocation facility in Clifton, New Jersey.

The company expects that the expansion will accommodate growing demand by Telx customers for high bandwidth Ethernet, wavelengths and dark fiber service.

In addition to increasing capacity at the location, Lightower’s expansion will also offer Telx’s colocation customers optimized routes from 100 Delawanna Ave. to other NJ and NY Metro data centers and financial exchanges, according to company officials.

Telx is strategically positioned in the New York City region to be a premier colocation provider, said Doug Dalissandro, executive vice president of sales at Lightower, adding that Lightower is working with Telx to meet the increasing demand for networking services into and between Telx’s New Jersey and New York colocation and interconnection centers.

“We look forward to continued expansion of our dark fiber, Ethernet, wavelength, and other networking services in these facilities as demand continues to rise,” Dalissandro said.

Telx’s 24,000 square feet of colocation space at 100 Delawanna Avenue, Clifton, New Jersey is located 11 miles outside of New York City. Company officials said that it is becoming a premier address for financial services colocation and interconnection services.

Company officials said that this site is ideally suited for Financial Services, enterprise, media and entertainment and cloud computing customers looking for a location outside of New York City to host their business continuity/disaster recovery, storage back-up, or other networking applications.

Additionally, 100 Delawanna Ave. also provides access to Financial Exchange networks such as SFTI, BATS, ARCA, and others. Carrier customers looking to expand their presence in a NY Telx facility select this location to reach more customers and optimize their network among several Points of Presence, said company officials.

“Telx continues to build a large community of interest for the financial services industry in the New York area, including our newest location at 100 Delawanna Ave. in Clifton,” said Brad Hokamp, chief marketing officer at Telx.

Hokamp said that Lightower’s expansive reach of dark fiber between New England and New York enables the company to offer lower latency and improved network connectivity to the financial services industry and other enterprise customers looking to optimize network performance while cost-effectively reaching key business exchanges.
