Teradici's PCoIP Technology Integrated with Amulet Trader Workstations

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

Teradici Corporation has announced that its PC-over-IP (PCoIP) technology will be integrated with Amulet Hotkey’s new remote quad-monitor blade workstation solution.

Teradici delivers a true PC experience over standard IP networks. The company’s PCoIP technology allows network delivered computing for enhancing the end user experience in data center-based computing.

The offering employs a combination of unique graphics algorithms, high-performance silicon processing, and workstation/server add-in cards for changing how personal computers are used, deployed and managed.

The advanced PCoIP remoting capability enhances the efficiency and security for Amulet customers as well as reduces heat and noise in the trading center. System security is improved by moving sensitive data to one central location and by restricting access to removable storage devices. The Amulet Hotkey remote quad-monitor trader solution with PCoIP technology simplifies IT management, reduces cost of adds, moves and other changes made by users.

“PC-over-IP is the most innovative solution for remote computing, and a natural extension of the analog and digital KVM technology that Amulet Hotkey has deployed so successfully,” said Andrew Jackson, president of Amulet Hotkey. “The new PCoIP blade solution enables a trader to operate a workstation from hundreds to thousands of miles away, a major advantage in today’s global trading markets and other applications.”

Teradici’s PC-over-IP technology, remote computing technology allows companies to centralize their PCs or workstations besides ensuring an optimum desktop experience. The chipset used compresses and encodes the entire PC experience at the data center and transmits it via standard IPnetwork to a stateless and driverless desktop “portal”. Users will be able to work on applications, graphics and multimedia functions on their work stations or PC in spite of the main computer being in a data centre miles away.

Dan Cordingley, president and CEO, Teradici Corporation clarified that the PCoIP technology enables better remote computing, eliminating problems of distance and security. The integration with the PCoIP technology into a blade station enables optimum remote user experience for financial institutions world wide.
