New York City-based Telx, an interconnection and colocation provider in strategic North American markets, has announced the agenda for its Financial Services Event – “Trading Latency: How Low Can You Go?”

The event is aimed at helping financial buy side, sell side, market data and enterprise customers. It’s expected to offer interactive thought leadership from some top financial services players such as Ballista, ACTIV Financial, Direct Edge and RCN Metro Optical Networks.

Noting that today, the smallest amount of latency can cause big problems in the trading arena, Eric Shepcaro (News - Alert), CEO at Telx, said that the customers hear every day that a network provider has the lowest latency, or some application can help reduce latency.

“Our event will delve into these confusing claims and examine what causes latency in trades,” Shepcaro said. “We will explore how the trading environment can affect the trade, and offer attendees real-world advice that will help them improve their latency issues.”

Shepcaro is expected to give a keynote address at the Financial Services event. Also, a live, interactive roundtable discussion is expected to be moderated by Kevin McPartland, a senior financial services analyst with TABB Group.

The event is scheduled for April 6, 2010 at Telx’s 100 Delawanna Ave., Clifton, N.J. facility.

Earlier this month, Telx announced that it has been selected as a connectivity partner by SoftLayer (News - Alert), a provider of on-demand data center, hosting, and cloud services.
