Force10 Networks, Inc. has announced that the NYSE Euronext will be using its 10 Gigabit Ethernet core and access switches to power the management network in its data centers in the greater New Jersey and London metro areas.

NYSE Euronext has deployed the Force 10 C-Series resilient switches and the S-Series access switches to power the mission-critical, 10 GbE command and control management network. This ensures the seamless handling of transactions and quotes of billions of customers daily across global trading platforms, said Force 10 sources.

“Our meticulously designed and engineered global data centers are core assets in NYSE Euronext’s corporate strategy. We carefully selected technology partners like Force10, who could deliver unparalleled innovation yet be nimble enough to work quickly and effectively with us from development to deployment,” said Andrew Bach, senior vice president of network services for NYSE Euronext, in a release.

“In addition to providing highly reliable, non-blocking Ethernet switching functionality, Force10 was key in helping us deliver the speed and reliability that our customers need in a continually evolving marketplace,” added Bach.

The command and control network built on Force 10 switches enables IT staff to reliably deploy, monitor and troubleshoot the global trading platform. This allows secure, mission-critical and out-of-band management. Force 10’s FTOS operating system software offers features that make the command-and-control network easy to manage and scale. The Force 10 hardware and software architecture gives always-on access to NYSE Euronext data centers ensuring 100 percent reliable uptime.

Also the Force 10 C-Series and S-Series switches deliver port density and resiliency features which help minimize forklift upgrades and reduce network complexity. With 384 line-rate 10/100/1000Base-T or 64 line-rate 10 GbE ports, the C-Series switches allows NYSE Euronext to seamlessly develop the 10 GbE command-and-control network with expansion of their global trading platform.

Henry Wasik (News - Alert), CEO of Force10 Networks, said the company strives to provide an optimized trading experience for global clients. Force 10 develops purpose-built technology for system design that enables ways to increase resiliency and non-blocking line-rate performance.

Force 10 Networks’ products offer scalability, reliability and application awareness for delivering content from the enterprise or converged network to mobile business users and consumers.
