Spacenet to Provide Managed Services to More Than 7,000 Regis Corporation Locations

Gilat Satellite Networks (News - Alert) Ltd. recently announced that it’s fully owned subsidiary, Spacenet Inc., has been chosen to deliver its Prysm Pro network appliance to more than 7,000 Regis Corporation North American locations.

 
The Prysm Pro Network Appliance (News - Alert) is a solution thatenables a fully PCI compliant managed network services implementation.
 
Regis, an international participant in the beauty salon, hair restoration and cosmetology education segment and is making use of Spacenet's managed network services and Prysm Pro network management appliance in order to improve integrated support and management for its business communication framework. This framework comprises DSL, 3G, analog and digital voice, WiFi (News - Alert) and VPN networking at its beauty salon locations.
 
Joel Wiens, Regis vice president of Information Technology said, "Increasing the utility and cost effectiveness of our communications network and corporate wide applications is very important for Regis Corporation. Spacenet's managed network services through its Prysm Pro is helping us meet this goal by serving as an all-in-one flexible network appliance that supports our comprehensive business applications more cost efficiently than competing alternatives.”
 
Regis Corporation was looking for dependable communications to prop up vital business applications at its thousands of salon locations. In line with its network upgrade strategy, Spacenet is also delivering managed network services boosted by the Prysm Pro appliance to interface with terrestrial and 3G modems.
 
The Prysm Pro appliance will also offer support for automatic hybrid switching between its wireline and wireless technologies which, will allow network backup, integrated WiFi hotspot services for clients, integrated Analog Telephone Adapter for VoIP capability, and POS hardware for its retail applications.
