Adomo (News - Alert) Inc., which makes unified messaging

solutions for large enterprises, has received $15 million in venture capital from Menlo Ventures and Storm Ventures (News - Alert), both of Menlo Park, Calif. The company will use the series A-1 funding for further product development as well as to bolster its marketing and sales efforts.
Adomo claims its unified messaging solution can be seamlessly integrated with existing infrastructure, including any PBX

or Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange server -- thus it greatly simplifies the issue of convergence for companies with complex IT environments. The solution is unique in the market, as it uses a purpose-built, modular architecture and requires fewer databases and no synchronization. In fact, Adomo was recently granted a patent by U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the unique architecture of its messaging solution. The Patent specifies “A server or software program implemented on a third-party server to facilitate incoming and outgoing calls in a mobile communication system is provided.”
Adomo claims that because its solution requires less hardware and is simpler to install, it is significantly less expensive than other enterprise messaging solutions and thus provides faster ROI. At the same time, its modular design actually makes it many times more flexible – and reliable – than other systems. Adomo’s customers are primarily in the in financial, legal, healthcare and manufacturing sectors, however its messaging system has application across a wide range of industry verticals.
“Adomo’s technology is built to handle the complex environments of Fortune 5000 enterprises, whether TDM or IP

based,” said Mathew Frazer (News - Alert), president and CEO, Adomo, in a press release. “This strong funding round underscores the value of Adomo’s unique ability to simplify what is a very complex problem, delivering a superior messaging platform and cost advantage for our customers.”
