Convergin (News - Alert), a provider of service interaction and service mediation solutions, has unveiled its SCIM 2.0 offering. The solution can be integrated with any J2EE JSR 116/289 compliant service delivery platform.
SCIM 2.0 is based on Convergin’s Accolade WCS platform and runs on a Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) SIP

Server environment with Java Specification Request (JSR) 116 or JSR 289. The solution enables operators to communicate with Web Services. The SCIM 2.0 aligns service orchestration capabilities with the business logic handling supported by the SOA service bus

.
Convergin is a leading provider of service capability interaction management (SCIM) core network solutions. With the help of Convergin's Accolade WCS, service providers accelerate their evolution towards IMS

, while enabling seamless orchestration of mobile, legacy, next generation and Web services elements.
“There is a clear market need to blend services and to open the network services layer to SOA and Web 2.0 alongside existing services, while servicing both the new IMS multimedia capable networks and the existing legacy networks,” said Ayal Itzkovitz, CEO of Convergin, in a statement. “Convergin’s SCIM 2.0 is the critical piece in an SDP offering, going beyond pure IMS, allowing the introduction of SDPs today without the need to deploy a complete IMS core.”
Convergin claims that its Accolade platform is the first SCIM that enables service providers to support service delivery platforms beyond IP

multimedia networks, and extend them to legacy networks and their mass subscriber base. With this solution, users can coordinate and consolidate the orchestration and interaction of services from several application servers. The Accolade WCS can now support service orchestration for telecom web services and business logic in the service composition process.
The SIP Servlet programming model is gaining rapid adoption. Several major vendors are now offering support for JSR 116/289 through their application servers, including BEA, IBM (News - Alert), Oracle, Sun, and Ericsson. Convergin’s Accolade WCS SCIM fully supports Java SIP Servlet API releases JSR 116 and JSR 289. This makes it the first SCIM that can extend the SIP Servlet programming model to Legacy/SS7

interfaces.
The solution also offers native and service independent support for SS7/SIGTRAN based TCAP and IN interfaces to the Application Server Service Logic Execution Environment (SLEE). This feature enables operators to benefit from latest open standards for SIP application development using servlets.
