Mexican Telecom AXTEL Commences Operations in San Juan del Rio

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

AXTEL, a Mexican fixed-line integrated telecommunications company, has officially opened its local offices and full operations in San Juan del Rio, Queretaro.

Since July 2004, the Mexican company has been offering comprehensive local services in the nearby city of Queretaro. AXTEL has been successful in accumulating a significant number of the region’s business and residential customers.

According to company sources, AXTEL plans to equip San Juan del Rio with modern technology and the highest level of customer service through an investment of US$15 million over the next five years.

“We are happy to today launch local services in the seventh new market for AXTEL in 2007. Commencing operations in San Juan del Rio should help AXTEL to further consolidate its presence in the State of Queretaro,” said Jorge Gerhardus, director of AXTEL’s Western Region in a statement.

Gerhardus expects that AXTEL’s trademark customer satisfaction orientation and state-of-the-art technology should assist the company in quickly gaining the confidence of the community.

Francisco Garrido Patron, Governor of Queretaro, made the initial AXTEL call during the inaugural ceremony, which was also attended by Jorge Rivadeneyra Diaz, Mayor of San Juan del Rio, as well as other local business officials, community representatives and press members.

AXTEL points out that San Juan del Rio is the twenty-fourth city where the company provides local and long-distance telephony, broadband Internet, Web hosting, data storage and security, VPNs and built-to-suit communications solutions, among others, to business and residential customers in approximately 90% of the San Juan del Rio metropolitan area.

AXTEL is a Mexican telecommunications company that provides local and long-distance telephony, broadband Internet, data and built-to-suit communications solutions in 24 cities and long distance telephone services to business and residential customers in over 200 cities.
