According to a press release, Lubbock County Texas is utilizing Spacenet’s high-performance satellite communications services and equipment to support critical communications across the state. Spacenet Inc is a leading provider of broadband network solutions for government, business and industrial users.
Lubbock County plans to integrate Spacenet’s satellite equipment and services into its mobile command vehicle that is used across the state to maintain data, voice and video communications during emergency situations.
The process in which allows this to happen, is Spacenet’s system which supports voice over IP (VoIP) through telephone systems that connect back to Lubbock County’s telephone numbers.
With this system, Lubbock County Texas will have a safe sense of security. Emergency Management Coordinator Clinton Thetford stated, “Spacenet’s satellite system has proven to be extremely reliable and effective for supporting our critical emergency communications requirements”.
In addition to comments made by the Emergency Management Coordinator Clinton Thetford, Spacenet Vice President Mike Mazza reiterated the importance to its commitment in providing a reliable system forLubbock County Texas. Mazza stated, “Maintaining communications no matter what is critical for Lubbock County in order to protect its community and serve on the state of Texas Rapid Response Task Force”.
In December, Officials of Spacenet’s Managed Network Services say the company’s targeting the market of helping multi-site enterprises “manage their networks more effectively.”
Claiming a full range of connectivity options, management services, and value-added applications, Spacenet officials are positioning the company as a vendor. It aims to become a single source for all broadband network requirements, stating that they can provide a selected range of services based on a company’s individual needs.
