Benenden Healthcare Society Picks Appian BPM for Case Management

According to Appian, the company is the only business process management, or “BPM,” provider to deliver all the features needed to rapidly deliver BPM applications. Their BPM suite has now been picked by Benenden Healthcare Society for case management.

 
The Benenden healthcare society offers first class healthcare services for a membership and the Appian based Service Management System, or “SMS,” manages a member’s journey from initial call through diagnosis and health service, including financial assistance and payment. Members will get to enjoy a faster better service and the healthcare provider will get bottom-line cost reductions, enhanced accountability and efficiency, quality decision making and regulatory compliance capabilities.
 
The SMS also allows the society staff to pinpoint the area of members’ ailment on a graphical frontend which is then transferred to an ‘electronic briefcase’ where all relevant information relating to a member's case is available at each stage of the member's journey, and electronically available to the appropriate people within the organization.
 
Appian offers a tightly integrated suite of components, including process, rules, forms, content management, reporting, identity management, integration, and collaboration, work seamlessly together for simple administration and management. The healthcare society managed to save roughly $3.25 million in provider services procurement costs even prior to the full deployment of the suite.
 
Benenden officials said that their previous case management system forced their processes to be driven by system limitations rather than by business need. It was a basic system that relied on the user's knowledge and expertise to deliver information and aid decision making. With Appian, they have a rapid development and deployment environment for rolling out flexible solutions that support the changing needs of the business.
 
Appian has stated that their platform is designed to scale linearly, allowing organizations to grow a BPM initiative from a small department to an enterprise wide deployment on a single platform.
 
Appian added that their solution has been designed to operate in the most demanding of enterprise environments. The company has claimed that with real-world deployments reaching over 2 million users in a single installation, they have proven to be the most reliable BPMS and application platform available. Appian regularly conducts scalability testing on a variety of components to ensure proper performance prior to a customer deployment.
 
Matthew Calkins, president and CEO of Appian, said that the company approaches each customer engagement as a true partnership, and their work with the Society illustrates this. Working together, both companies have pushed the boundaries of what can be achieved with BPM. Benenden Healthcare's case management deployment can be cited as a textbook example of how Appian rapidly delivers flexible, responsive process applications that enable the visibility and analytics needed to support key corporate objectives.
 
Recently, Appian unveiled new version of Appian for SharePoint module and released Enterprise 5.7.
