The ancotel group, which operates the largest and most important telecommunications and data hub in Europe, has been selected by AboveNet, to help it extend its network footprint in Europe beyond its existing locations in London, Paris and Amsterdam.

AboveNet, a leading provider of high bandwidth connectivity solutions, was welcomed by Ancotel group as its 400^th customer at Kleyer 90 in Frankfurt, Germany.  

Ancotel's Frankfurt location was ideal for AboveNet, as a number of global carriers maintained a presence at Kleyer 90. Other key factors responsible for choosing the ancotel (News - Alert) group were its focus on global corporate businesses, which included clients from the financial sector.  

Klaus-Jürgen Orth, co-founder and managing director of ancotel, viewed AboveNet's decision as a testimony to the quality of services his company offered and also a recognition of the growing importance of Frankfurt in the global communications hub. Ancotel was the only European colocation center that had such a high concentration of global carriers, and the addition of every new customer strengthened Frankfurt's position in the telecommunications network world.

Since its establishment in 2002, Kleyer 90 has made a name for itself all over the world as the first communication gateway to serve Eastern Europe. In a short span of eight years, the number of customers grew twenty fold from the initial 20, and the workforce to more than 100 from the initial three. 

In a related news release, Frankfurt-based ancotel and U.S. partner Telx are now also offering a  virtual meet-me room service in New York City for the purpose of interconnecting telecommunications and data carriers.
