The recent deployment of Tecore’s (News - Alert) broadband mobile core and radio access networks will be discussed by Cordova Wireless at the Alaska Telephone Association Showcase. The event will be held in Anchorage on Oct. 27 and Oct. 28. An announcement in this regard has been made by the global supplier of multi-technology 2G, 3G and 4G mobile network infrastructure, Tecore Networks. Cordova and the Copper River region are served by Cordova Wireless.
Tecore will be at booth No. 12 at the Alaska Telephone Association Showcase. Next-generation products can be viewed by visitors at this booth, including the 3G Rural Village System. Visitors can also discover the sophisticated, cost-effective solutions delivered by Tecore. The world-class support provided by Tecore to Cordova Wireless and other major operators in the state can be also discovered by the visitors.
iCore, iBSS and RVS are included in Tecore’s comprehensive product portfolio. iCore is a carrier-grade 2G-3G-4G core network. This can be either deployed on a range of hardware platforms or can be delivered as a cloud-based service to the operator. iBSS is a range of radio access network or RAN products. The quad-band GSM Super-Capacity RAN and the scalable GSM Mini RAN are included in the iBSS.
Rural Village System (RVS) is a mobile communication core and RAN system. This compact and complete system can cost-effectively serve hundreds to several thousand subscribers. RVS usually operates as an extension of an operator’s main network. In the event of backhaul issues, RVS is also capable of functioning independently.
In a press release, Jay Salkini, president and CEO at Tecore Networks, said, “Mobile operators worldwide are facing challenging economic conditions, a spike in demand for broadband data, and uncertainty about the most effective network technology. In Alaska, these challenges are compounded by the need to provide roaming to a large transient population on different technologies, and the extreme physical environmental conditions faced by operators.”
Salkini added that the company is pleased that several major operators in the state have selected Tecore as their vendor. In collaboration with Cordova Wireless, the company will be showcasing solutions to other companies. The solutions will help to meet their requirements across a range of technologies, geographies and subscriber characteristics, concluded Salkini.
