Telular Corporation (News - Alert) announced that Monitronics, a security monitoring provider, will be launching Telguard Interactive to its national dealer base as part of its enhanced service strategy starting in May 2011.

In a release Bruce Mungiguerra, vice president of sales and dealer development for Monitronics said, “We are excited to offer this service, as it is exactly what consumers are looking for: access to cutting-edge technology at an affordable price for today’s mobile lifestyle.”

“Our dealers can soon offer a complementary service that enhances the security power and functionality of each system when used in tandem with Telguard’s cellular communicators,” Mungiguerra added.

Telguard Interactive is available for the iPhone, Android (News - Alert) and BlackBerry platforms and it lets consumers to remotely arm, disarm, and receive system notifications via their smartphones. The mobile app will be activated with Telguard’s residential cellular communicator product line.

The cellular communicator product line includes the TG-1 Express, the TG-1B, and the TG-4 in primary mode, making it compatible with almost all residential alarm panels, according to Telular which specializes in alarm and event monitoring solutions and services.

It was revealed that Telguard Interactive will allow Monitronics to retrofit and upgrade thereby eliminating the need to replace existing alarm panels. Also only minimal programming is required as Telguard Interactive will utilize basic features built into security panels such as the key-switch zone, output triggers, and opening and closing reports. This facilitates easy installation and registration.
