Senda has launched Chronomove API for developers of social location-based services, saying that it offers a comprehensive set of services and is available through 3scale.

Angel Talamona, CEO at Senda, said that applications powered by Chronomove API create a compelling conversation space for brands that are currently looking for means to non-intrusively capture the attention of consumers.

Chronomove API’s comprehensive set of services include conversational event alert and discovery: on-the-go alert, discovery and conversation on local events, including shopping deals and transport alerts; shared mobility: location-based carpooling, where users define and synchronize their shared rides in real-time.

Additionally, it also included multi-modal mobility: seamless door-to-door information and guidance using a combination of transport modes including pedestrian, public transport, bicycle, car, and taxis. Company officials said that user preferences on time, cost, and carbon impact are taken into account to deliver a self-tailored user experience.

Chronomove services powered applications include Crowdsourcing info on attractions, news and traffic on highways by Abertis' Sanef; First/Last mile multi-modal assistant for car-sharing by SNCF; and Dynamic Taxi-sharing by Orange (News - Alert).

Company officials said that developers can build applications based on Chronomove API that integrate social alerts. Thanks to this, mobile users can create, discover and micro-blog text and pictures around local events including deals proposed by brands.

Moreover, the applications can also guide users to such dynamic destinations in real-time. Company officials said that the API provides links to location-based features of Internet social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

With open data as well as other sources like directories and city guides, developers can easily mash-up Chronomove services. Company officials said that the API is designed to be simple to integrate into mobile and Web environments.

For local event and community conversation management, to create and measure campaigns, Chronomove API is provided with a Web tool. Also, API is provided with standard mapping and geo-coding from geo-services suppliers including NAVTEQ and Google (News - Alert) Maps, and also a rich client-side library set compatible with mobile and Web platforms such as HTML5, Objective C, Java, PHP and Python.
