Building on its momentum and success, the 9-1-1 Industry Alliance (9IA), the public safety industry association advancing the nation’s emergency communications and response infrastructure, has appointed a new board, executive leadership and many other designations.
9IA will be led by the Board Members such as Kim Robert Scovill (Senior Director, TeleCommunication Systems (News - Alert), Inc.), John Melcher (President, The Melcher Group), Joel McCamley (Senior Vice President, L. R. Kimball) and John Melcher (President, The Melcher Group). The 9-1-1 Industry Alliance has also announced its newest member, Direct Technology, a technology consulting firm, which will be represented to 9IA by Fred Michanie, President.
The 9-1-1 Industry Alliance ("9IA") represents the industry voice of the public safety industry.
“9IA serves to urgently answer the need to update America’s public safety emergency communications and response infrastructure,” said Kevin Murray, chairman, 9-1-1 Industry Alliance. “Our growing membership includes many of the world’s most respected public safety industry companies, and we look forward to the continued growth of our alliance to bring greater awareness of the technology and policy challenges many agencies around the country face.”
Apart from announcing the appointment of new officers for the 2011 – 2013 period, the 9-1-1 Industry Alliance (9IA) has announced the successful completion of elections to its Board of Directors. The officers for 9IA are Paul Fahey, Secretary (Director, Cassidian Communications), Allen Amis, Treasurer (CEO, 911 Inc.), Kevin Murray, Chairman (CEO, Mission Critical Partners), George Heinrichs, Past Chairman (President, Intrado (News - Alert)), and Bill Campbell, Vice Chairman (Senior Vice President, Intergraph), the company stated in a press release.
Recently, the Alliance announced it will host a national workshop on 9-1-1 overload on October 4-5, 2011, at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Centre in Washington, D.C. The invitation is extended to the Public safety decision-makers and government officials to engage in a national dialog on this important problem regarding people’s safety. The workshop is supported by various associations to include sponsorship from CTIA (News - Alert).
