Evolving Systems (News - Alert), a provider of software solutions and services to the wireless, wireline and cable markets, announced that a tier-1 wireless operator in Russia is implementing the company's Dynamic SIM Allocation (DSA) solution.
The carrier selected Evolving Systems' DSA solution to offer personalization of subscriber services in a highly complex mobile market. The operator is expected to deliver a differentiated user experience utilizing DSA. The Russian wireless carrier will also streamline their SIM card distribution processes.
“The BRIC economies with their attractive growth rates have been target markets for Evolving Systems for some time,” said Thad Dupper, CEO of Evolving Systems, in a statement.
“This significant order, from a major Russian-based carrier, is our largest DSA order in terms of order value and scope. By leveraging the features of DSA we will be able to assist this carrier to increase subscriber loyalty and extend their competitive edge by enhancing the personalization of services they offer their subscribers,” Dupper added.
The utilization of DSA will enable the mobile carrier to change the way prepaid subscribers are activated. Through the customer's handset, DSA will offer personalization options including number selection, call plans, promotions and service upgrades. Personalization may add value for differentiating service and attracting more subscribers.
The carrier will introduce a universal SIM card. At present, managing the distribution of SIM cards to support the multiple market regions is a major logistical task. By avoiding the constraints of pre-provisioning for specific products and with regional numbers, DSA will enable cost savings, simplify logistics and stock management.
Recently, Evolving Systems announced the launch of intelligent M2M Controller solution. Intelligent M2M Controller, a dedicated machine-to-machine (M2M) solution for wireless service providers, provides efficiency, flexibility, minimal impact, protection, and open interface among others.
