Minnesota Nextera Picks Tranzeo's WiMAX Units for Regional Network
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor
Tranzeo Wireless Technologies’ family of WiMAX (News - Alert) subscriber units will now be used by Minnesota communications operator Nextera, Tranzeo announced this morning.
Tranzeo (News - Alert), a manufacturer of wireless broadband and WiMAX communication systems, is the exclusive supplier of subscriber units to Aperto for its carrier class WiMAX Forum (News - Alert)-certified PacketMAX product line.
Nextera recently selected Aperto Networks for their fixed wireless network and will thus use Tranzeo’s subscriber units for the project.
Nextera Communications delivers digital networking, telecom and data services to small, mid-size and large businesses throughout Minnesota and its adjacent states. The company is leveraging Aperto Network’s PacketMAX technology to build a regional wireless broadband network in the 3.65 GHz licensed frequency.
According to a press release, Nextera aims to deliver multi-line voice and T1+ speed services to commercial customers who have limited cost-effective competitive options currently.
Tranzeo was chosen by ABC Communications earlier this month for their BC-based rural broadband network. ABC is using Tranzeo’s Turn-key WiMAX service that includes Tranzeo’s pico base station, customer premise equipment and AirSync network management software developed by technology partner Proximetry (News - Alert).
