NetQuest Corporation, a manufacturer of network test and monitoring solutions, has introduced OptiCop Interceptor, a purpose-built, comprehensive access solution for intercept applications.
The interceptor enables communications service providers to meet the demands of law enforcement and other intelligence agencies by providing real-time, targeted access to customer data.
Company officials say it enables intercept applications to continue to be effective and remain in compliance with regulatory demands by evolving the monitoring access infrastructure to meet a dynamic converged network.
Interceptor offers selective access to data traffic on a variety of packet or TDM service networks ranging from high speed SONET/SDH/Ethernet to low speed T1/E1 and DS0.
“The technology and solutions for accurate, real-time traffic capture, processing, and analysis are becoming increasingly complex as additional network protocols and tunnels are added to support network convergence,” said Jesse Price, vice president of sales and marketing at NetQuest (News - Alert), in a statement.
Price said that Interceptor’s auto-discovery eliminates the need for the test equipment used to analyze circuit utilization, the ongoing manpower needed to operate this equipment, and the subsequent task of re-provisioning traditional solutions typically comprised of a collection of network element.
Company officials say Interceptor, which is available in a 12-port configuration, is equipped with four optical WAN input interfaces, which operate independently; four Ethernet output interfaces for targeted traffic; and four optical WAN bypass interfaces for unidentifiable traffic.
NetQuest Corporation (News - Alert) designs, manufactures and markets network access and monitoring products for applications in telecommunications service provider, government, and enterprise networks.
Earlier this month, NetQuest Corporation announced the introduction of its Vail 10-Gigabit Network Interface Card (NIC (News - Alert)) adapter. According to company officials, Vail optimizes the performance of high-speed monitoring platforms by off-loading and pre-processing the traffic for more efficient use by the host. Vail is part of NetQuest’s PINNICLE family of NIC adapters, which captures, inspects and forwards SONET/SDH and Ethernet traffic to high-speed monitoring platforms.
