Time Warner Cable Implements Neustar's Risk Management Services

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

American cable operator Time Warner Cable has reportedly implemented Neustar's next generation risk management services throughout its entire franchise area.

Brian Allen, senior director of corporate security at Time Warner (News - Alert) Cable, said that Neustar helps their company mitigate bad debt risk, and also represent an integral component of their overall identity theft, fraud and FTC (News - Alert) Red Flag Compliance Programs.

Time Warner Cable boasts around 15 million subscribers nationwide, and is known for developing and launching innovative voice, video, and data services.

Mark Boehler, director of corporate security at Time Warner Cable said that Neustar's risk management services has enabled them to mitigate the unauthorized use of another's identity to obtain services, as well as realize significant savings from the process.

“It has been gratifying helping Time Warner Cable enable timely fraud identification and significant bad debt reduction,” said Randy Zechman, director of risk management services at Neustar. “We are protecting their subscriber base from a growing list of threats and ultimately improving their bottom line.”

Neustar's Wireless Message Routing Service, or “WMRS,” was picked by American Roaming Network, or “ARN,” in August. ARN is the largest provider of unregistered roaming services to a majority of the carriers in the U.S.

WMRS is enabling query-based access for real-time routing of multimedia, or “MMS,” and SMS traffic among entities that enable the routing and billing of wireless messaging.
