New Version of AirMagnet Enterprise Optimizes WLAN Performance and Security

AirMagnet Inc., has announced the release of a new version of AirMagnet (News - Alert) Enterprise designed for 802.11n network deployments, management and security.

 

The application helps in the management and security of corporate WLAN deployments and offers intelligent sensors with full 11n support and interactive tools that allow network managers to maximize network throughput and benefit from 802.11n.

 

Officials with AirMagnet said that unlike most solutions which are passive, AirMagnet Enterprise provides WLAN security and management along with the provision of tools and guidance to actually solve the problems connected to 802.11n performance and security.

 

The features offered by AirMagnet are unavailable in dedicated WLAN monitoring systems. It offers 802.11n Connection Optimization Tools which lets network staff to examine an AP-client connection and improve it to maximize throughput.

 

Also, the offering gives insight into both directions of 11n traffic and allows staff to ensure throughput for network infrastructure.

 

 

“IT organizations need tools that help them take a proactive and comprehensive approach to ensuring overall network health if they want to achieve true 24x7 safety and reliability of the WLAN,” said Chia-Chee Kuan, VP of engineering at AirMagnet.

 

Kuan explained that visibility into every device, from every vendor, and over every 802.11 standards and part of the spectrum was necessary. AirMagnet Enterprise’s architecture can easily integrate all this new information around 11n enabling network managers to easily deploy, secure and manage the ongoing performance of the new standard.
