Cellcrypt (News - Alert), a provider of secure mobile voice calling,
announced the availability of its Cellcrypt Mobile application for the recently launched BlackBerry (News - Alert) Bold 9700 smartphone, BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry Pearl series of smartphones.
Company officials said that such solutions will provide secure voice calling as recent reports of mobile phone security being compromised has brought doubts in the minds of smartphone users. Hackers seem to have plans to crack standard GSM cell phones by gaining access to call encryption codes making it necessary for securing sensitive information in any case.
The new application, Cellcrypt Mobile delivers end-to-end, real-time encryption for protecting private conversations from being compromised so that people within corporations and governments can converse securely. Here no specialized equipment is required and a standard software application makes secure calling possible just like any other normal mobile phone call, said company sources.
“Cellcrypt has seen incredible interest from the global BlackBerry community since we announced its availability on the BlackBerry Bold 9000 smartphone in May,” Simon Bransfield-Garth (News - Alert), CEO of Cellcrypt, said.
“Now, not only are we supporting the latest devices such as the BlackBerry Bold 9700, but the application is also available on a wide range of BlackBerry smartphones found in the market, allowing more users to secure their sensitive voice calls,” he added.
Cellcrypt makes high voice call quality possible using the latest in Internet technology. It also provides international calling capability, high reliability across wireless networks and real-time encryption. The Cellcrypt Mobile for BlackBerry application uses Government-grade encryption certified to the FIPS 140-2 standard approved by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology or NIST.
The new app operates on all major wireless networks including 2G and 3G cellular, Wi-Fi and satellite networks, according to Cellcrypt sources.
The company provides optimized technology to secure mobile voice calls on smartphones. It also produced the Encrypted Mobile Content Protocol or EMCP, an Internet Protocol based technology that can optimize the delivery of encrypted data between mobile devices over wireless networks.
Cellcrypt’s products are suitable for Nokia Symbian (News - Alert) and BlackBerry smartphones and the company is a BlackBerry Alliance Partner and Inmarsat Connect Partner, said company sources. The company caters to the needs of governments, enterprises and senior-level executives worldwide.
