In an effort to combat the use of contraband cell phones in correctional facilities and schools, CellAntenna (News - Alert) Corporation reportedly announced a new offering, CJAM Cell Phone Threat Scan, or “CTS (News - Alert),” service, which facilitates prison and school administrative authorities with the ability to assess the extent of illegal and unauthorized cellular activity, as well as enables them to take steps to eliminate it from their environment.
CellAntenna Corp. is a provider of solutions to either enhance or prohibit cell phone signals. Its new CJAM CTS service features a detailed site evaluation; RF spectrum analysis; cell phone detection and threat modeling; scenario planning; and development of a migration strategy for correctional facilities, schools or any other high risk environment that requires protection against threats that are caused by cell phones.
The service not only helps in stopping crime by prisoners, but also brings integrity back into the classroom, say officials.
“Finally there is a vaccine against the pandemic of cell phones in schools and behind prison walls,” said Howard Melamed, CEO of CellAntenna Corp. “The CJAM-CTS allows facility and administration directors at institutions of all kinds to understand the threats that cell phones pose, and develop a strategic plan for combating them head on.”
Currently available in the United States, the CJAM-CTS service proactively places valuable information into the hands of budget planners and decision makers. By performing the evaluation with the help of CJAM-CTS, wasteful spending on needless systems – in cases where cell phones are proven not to be a threat - can be eliminated.
With such valuable information, administrators can accurately plan and budget for preventative measures, and can also implement solutions including CellAntenna’s CJAM-CPC, cell phone controlling.
CJAM-CPC is used for controlling the use of illegal or unauthorized cells phones. It can control as well as eliminate the illegal use of cell phones by inmates in prisons, criminals during the committing of a crime, or ensuring complete cell phone security within a building.
Compatible with both CDMA and GSM communication, CJAM-CPC systems utilizes integrated GPS receiver and is capable of precisely timed firing of signals and precise synchronization with the GSM and CDMA networks under test.
Some of the CellAntenna’s products include cellular repeaters, cell phone signal boosters and fixed wireless terminals. In addition, it also includes solutions for cellular detection, jamming and passive handset control.
CellAntenna officials said that CJAM-CTS will be available in Europe in second quarter 2010.
