AIRCOM to Help Vodacom Tz to Optimize its Managed Services

AIRCOM International, a network planning and optimization consultancy will assist Vodacom Tanzania (Tz) Ltd. to implement a dynamic tariff offering. Vodacom Tz will be able to offer reduced tariffs in order to benefit from superfluous cell sites in under-utilized areas of its network.

 
Vodacom Tz is a subsidiary of South Africa-based Vodacom (Pty) Ltd. which won a bid to operate a GSM cellular network in Tanzania and formed Vodacom Tz in the process.
 
Vodacom Tz has introduced new products like prepaid and postpaid international roaming, SMS per second and per minute billing, loyalty program, Kama Kawaida and Vodafone (News - Alert) M-PESA. It launched 3G with HSDPA last year followed by loyalty program and Vodafone M-PESA this year.

OPTIMA helps operator Vodacom Tz to differentiate its customer offering optimally.
Vodacom Tz recently announced the registration of its five millionth customer. AIRCOM has helped Vodacom Tz by implementing several additional network monitoring and optimization tools into the operator’s network. The resulting customized tool suite is capable of offering a common network report for Vodacom’s multi-vendor, multi-technology environment. Vodacom Tz can now plan and optimize different elements of the network and also deliver several unique tariff plans for the benefit of customers.
 
“In times of economic uncertainty, it is imperative that operators look at new innovative and flexible ways of charging customers to secure the loyalty of a vast and rapidly expanding subscriber base,” said Graham Kemp, managing director, Africa at AIRCOM International.
 
“Our work with Vodacom Tz has allowed them to launch new strategic services based on our data, thereby providing affordable connectivity and improved network quality,” added Kemp.
 
Dana Bakker, managing executive, operations at Vodacom Tz Ltd. pointed out that AIRCOM’s ‘think global and act local’ attitude and its knowledge of the African market made it an ideal choice for planning, monitoring and optimizing the network performance of Vodacom Tz.
Bakker added that with the assistance of AIRCOM his company was able to offer several new and affordable as well as relevant services to customers. This was done without compromising on network quality for offering optimal services to Tanzania’s average mobile user.
 
Vodacom Tz employs AIRCOM’s ASSET, OPTIMA, RANOPT and CONNECT tools from its ENTERPRISE tool suite.
