Antenova Ltd, developer and supplier of integrated antennas and RF solutions, released Mixtus dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz antenna adding to its gigaNOVArange of surface mount antennas.

The company is known for supplying high performance antennas and RF antenna modules for mobile handsets, portable devices and laptop computers. It designs small internal/embedded antennas that offer advantages in terms of size, power consumption, and ease of integration as stand alone antennas or as a module integrated with radio frequency (RF) components.

Its product line includes gigaNOVA range of market leading antenna solutions for 2.3 GHz, 2.4 GHz, 2.5 GHz, 5 GHz, GPS, GSM and ISM900 bands. These standard antennas are designed for easy integration into wireless devices and are the smart choice for GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, WiMAXand ZigBee applications.

Mixtus A10194 dual-band antenna is recommended for a wide range of embedded Wi-Fi enabled consumer device applications such access points, set top boxes (STBs), portable games, media gateway products, networked High Definition Digital TVs (HDTVs) and PC cards.

With its compact size, measuring 10 x 10 x 0.9 mm3, it’s useful for surface mounting and requires minimal ground plane. A10194 is supplied in tape on reel and available now for volume purchase through Antenova’s (News - Alert) global network of leading distributors and agents.

McCray, CEO of Antenova said that Mixtus A10194 SMD antenna is a high efficiency dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz antenna suitable for a wide range of consumer Wi-Fi applications, including 802.11n multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) applications.

He further added, “Wi-Fi enabled consumer electronics are projected to reach 329 million units by 2012 and 802.11n products are expected to outpace existing technologies to become the default Wi-Fi technology of choice by equipment vendors. In the growing market of 802.11n in connected entertainment devices, networked TV shipments alone are forecasted to grow to 65 million total units by 2012.”

As per the company, Mixtus enables Wi-Fi products to operate over the full 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands which are an ideal solution for current and next generation networked consumer products.
