Telecoms, network operators and enterprises require extremely flexible solutions when it comes to providing real-time communications in today's digital ecosystem. Whether the solution is being delivered on premises or in the cloud, it has to adapt quickly and efficiently to each environment and deliver the communications applications without limitations or unnecessary complications. TMC, a global, integrated media company helping clients build communities in print, in person and online, has recognized Dialogic (News - Alert)'s PowerMedia XMS 3.2 as a 2016 Real Time Web Solutions Excellence Award winner for these and other capabilities with exceptional innovation in real-time communications.
According to TMC CEO Rich Tehrani (News - Alert), “Our judges were very impressed with the ingenuity and excellence displayed by Dialogic in its groundbreaking work advancing real time communications on the Web.”
Dialogic provides cloud-optimized solutions for real-time communications media, applications, and infrastructure to service providers, enterprises and developers globally, and its PowerMedia XMS 3.2 has been designed to address their needs.
The flexibility of PowerMedia XMS allows it to deliver communications applications for IMS, MRF, enterprise, and WebRTC applications on premise or in the cloud as highly scalable, software-only media server enabling standards-based, real-time multimedia communications solutions. The upgrade Dialogic has implemented in its media server/media resource function (MRF) platform now lets organizations access NFV (Network Function Virtualization) and AWS (Amazon Web Services (News - Alert)) cloud deployments while accelerating adoption across network operator, over-the-top (OTT) and enterprise markets.
The NFV deployment improvement includes support for OpenStack orchestration with a package of OpenStack HEAT maps to simplify high availability and redundant deployments. As for OTT operators and enterprise deployments, a number of performance improvements for deployments in AWS have been added, including support for both RedHat and Centos and more OS selection flexibility.
Some of the other improvements Dialogic made in PowerMedia XMS 3.2 include support for Oracle (News - Alert) Linux 7.2 with UEK 4 operating system; enhanced videoconference layout sizing; audio/video join enhancement; WebM container support; voice quality and eco-cancellation improvements and more.
Jim Machi, SVP of Product Management and Marketing at Dialogic, said, “We are delighted that TMC (News - Alert) has recognized our efforts to bringing innovative solutions to the market. With the release of PowerMedia XMS 3.2 which includes deployment enhancements on NFV and the AWS cloud, as well as key features such as Multi-Track Recording, we continue to demonstrate our dedication to helping our customers improve their media processing technology.”
The inclusion of Multi-Track Recording (MTR), highlighted by Machi, includes media recording enhancements that allows communications applications to have the option of identifying and selecting individual session media streams, recording each stream in separate media tracks, facilitating complex post call processing, word spotting, or cognitive analysis.
