Subsentio, Sonus Make Big Announcement at ITEXPO
February 08, 2017
Subsentio, the CALEA Compliance Company, is known for providing total solutions that comply with surveillance laws such as the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act. The company prides itself on offering all the components that are essential to compliance with the law, including technology, legal expertise and direct experience with law enforcement.
Yesterday at ITEXPO, the company took another step in furthering its mission by announcing that its newly-released Virtual Safe Harbor Intercept Mediator (SHIM) has completed successful integration with Sonus Networks’ (News - Alert) Session Border Controller Software Edition (SBC SWe).
The Subsentio Virtual SHIM is supposed to provide lawful surveillance options for Communication Service Providers (CSPs) worldwide, and it should also help promote adoption of virtualization. Now that the software-based lawful intercept solution has officially combined with Sonus’ SBC Swe, it can function on any VoIP network, and CSPs the world over will be able to easily and cost-effectively transition from hardware to virtual networking. Until now, CSPs have been struggling to find an alternative for meeting international lawful surveillance needs that wouldn’t break the bank.
As of now, according to the announcement, “Sonus SBC SWe is the first virtual SBC to align with the Subsentio approach for a virtual, global model of lawful intercept that is low-cost, simple to implement and use. The Subsentio Virtual SHIM connected to the Sonus SBC SWe is available on Amazon Web Services (News - Alert), VMware EXSI, and KVM.”
Marcus Thomas, Subsentio CTO and Former Assistant Director/Technology for the FBI, this partnership can only lead to good things. “Subsentio's Virtual SHIM on the Sonus SBC SWe is a win for everyone – for VoIP companies, law enforcement and virtualization…Service providers can 'go virtual' and be in compliance with legal requirements. Our virtual solution is custom-made to help law enforcement track down criminals and terrorists on virtual networks. Confidence on all sides will spur network virtualization and market demand for outstanding solutions such as the Sonus SBC SWe.”
Both Subsentio and Sonus can be found at ITEXPO in Fort Lauderdale, FL for the remainder of the week. Subsentio is exhibiting at booth 434, and Sonus is at booth 413. Be sure to stop by to chat with representatives of each company about this exciting new development, and stay tuned for more news coming out of the Sunshine State over the next few days.
