RTCWeb's New App Means Better Sales Training

The old saw is that great sales reps aren't made, but rather born. To a certain degree, that's true; it takes a very specific personality to really be a success as a sales rep. However, some of these personality traits can be added with proper training.  A new app from RTCWeb, meanwhile, may be just what's needed to really put a new fire under sales training.

With the new app, part of a larger package of sales training software tools, users can use a Web-based real time communications (WebRTC) system to not only receive training, but also practice the techniques found therein and receive rapid feedback on the results of that practice. It can readily offer a variety of content types up for study, ranging from videos to documents, while also offering performance measurement and benchmarking tools.

Video-based demonstrations of products help sales reps stay knowledgeable about the products in question, and even some gamification tools can be brought in to help keep trainees engaged in the process. There are even some more basic tools included in the app; volume controls allow for noise reduction while options to prevent skipping or fast-forwarding can also be included.

WebRTC does have an excellent potential to be useful as a training mechanism, and with good reason; since it offers the ability to work with voice and video in almost equal measure, it can offer a means to not only observe sales behavior, or other behaviors, but also provide the most rapid of feedback. Most any behavioral psychologist will tell you, if prompted, that rapid feedback is the key to the most success in learning. Throw in WebRTC's ability to run on a variety of different device platforms, including as an app, and the reasons to use it only increase from there. That ubiquity, connected with that level of capability, means that WebRTC as a sales training tool should be a winner, a point likely not lost on RTCWeb.

In the end, RTCWeb's new app may be a truly impressive training tool. While it will take seeing how a few people come out the other side of said training to say just how well it works, it's still a safe bet that some new sales reps are about to be made...not merely born.
