The face of communications and collaboration is in the midst of a remodel. Innovation in WebRTC, cloud, virtualization and software in general is driving a new generation of communications applications capable of pushing developers to the limit of what was thought possible. So with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look back at the week that was in communications applications news: Time for the Week in Review!

Making waves is Mavenir, as this week it announced its new Multi-ID system. The release alleviates much of the headaches created by the BYOD craze, providing users a single number that works across several devices. Watch out, WebRTC is coming! That’s right, enterprise, it’s coming for you! WebRTC offers real time multimedia communications delivered in a way of your choosing. On a recent CommsDevZone Podcast, host Alan Percy (News - Alert) was joined by Tsahi Levent-Levi to discuss WebRTC for business people, which turned into a bit more. One of, if not the most popular New Year’s resolution, is to get in shape. Rejoin the gym, get back in a healthy routine, all that good stuff. Well, now it’s June. Bathing suit and beach season is right around the corner and those lofty expectations have fallen to the waist side. Fear not, this week Blacc Spot Media announced Weqool, an innovative real time communications applications that fosters the camaraderie, community and resources needed for many getting fit. Liquor may be quicker, but Kandy (News - Alert) is dandy. Kandy BusinessFax is a communications application that provides a secure way to exchange private, sensitive document in real time.
