Communications Applications Week in Review: Telestax, Dialogic, Sendence & More
July 15, 2017
We live in a real time world, which requires real time applications capable of supporting the speed of business. Digital transformation is taking hold across industry, and receiving a facelift as a result are communications applications. From WebRTC to the cloud, APIs and more, it is an exciting time to be covering the communications applications space. And, with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look back at the week that was: Time for the Week in Review!
Leading off the week, the community received a contributed piece from industry veteran Biju Oommen, which discusses the value in eSBCs. Communications are transforming, and eSBCs serve as a way to promise secure and interoperable communications. Find Oommen’s complete insight and analysis into the matter HERE.
As real time takes flight, firms pioneering development are receiving their due. Telestax, a firm known for real time video, voice and messaging applications, closed a strong round of funding this week. With LiveOak Partners leading the way of the $4.7 million influx of funds, Telestax plans to expand market reach and operational support. All the details are HERE.
In other funding news, real-time application platform startup Sendence brought in $1.5 million in a seed round. The New York based startup creates tools to build, test and run real time applications. TMC’s (News - Alert) Paula Bernier offers complete coverage HERE.
Also in the news, Dialogic (News - Alert) earned the moniker of revenue market share leader for low density trunk media gateways sold to service providers in 2016 from the HIS. “Trunk media gateways meet the customer requirements for interconnect between circuit-switched networks and SIP-based networks, including IP Multimedia Subsystem (News - Alert) (IMS), offering services such as voice over LTE (VoLTE). By addressing market requirements, Dialogic led the low density trunk media gateway market segment in 2016,” said Diane Myers, Senior Research Director, at IHS (News - Alert) Markit. Everything you need to know is HERE.
