A North American Airline Picks GuestLogix OnTouch Retail Technology

A large North American airline has selected the GuestLogix OnTouch retail technology and merchandising platform for its regional carrier network, saying that this agreement represents around 20 million passenger trips annually.

The company is expanding its relationship with the major customer as the airline deploys the company’s retail technology onboard its regional fleet, said Tom Douramakos, CEO of GuestLogix.

On its mainline flights, the airline is already using the GuestLogix solution. The new deployment is expected to create a consistent experience for the airline’s passengers. GuestLogix believes that this latest agreement represents a revenue growth opportunity.

Douramakos said that this is a significant opportunity for the airline to drive further ancillary sales through innovative onboard retailing initiatives and create a seamless customer travel experience across all flights.

“With GuestLogix currently serving all mainline flights, this new deployment is a strong testament to airline’s continued confidence in GuestLogix, our onboard retailing platform and the ancillary revenue growth opportunities our platform offers,” Douramakos said.

The airline expects to provide its regional travelers the convenience of paying for in-flight purchases using a credit card via GuestLogix’ retail technology. The option is currently available on the airline’s domestic and international flights.

Company officials said that passengers connecting from a mainline to a regional flight will benefit from a more consistent onboard experience, through offerings and services such as food and beverage selections and in the future, in-flight entertainment and in-flight shopping.

Leveraging GuestLogix’ OnTouch retail technology platform, airlines can develop a comprehensive in-flight retail environment, multiple payment options, and the merchandising platform to introduce new travel-relevant products and services that help travelers get the most out of their trip.

OnTouch comprises of point-of-sale (POS) handheld devices, and also a secure transaction processing and onboard retail management technology. Company officials said that the technology provides carriers with greater visibility and inventory control, as well as forecasting tools and electronic financial reconciliation.

GuestLogix is a provider of onboard store technology and merchandising, which helps airlines and other operators create, manage, and control onboard retail environments tailored to their needs and their passengers.

Earlier this year in January, GuestLogix and digEcor signed an agreement to integrate GuestLogix’ OnTouch retail technology and merchandising platform with digEcor’s digEplayer family of products.
