Interxion (News - Alert) Holding, a prominent provider of carrier-neutral colocation data center services in Europe, has developed content cloud and connectivity hubs that foster growing customer communities of interest.

Taking a step in this direction, Interxion Holding has announced the opening of initial phases of new data centers in Paris and London.

Interxion has opened its seventh data center in Paris (PAR 7). The data center is designed to support continuous customer loads in excess of 2 kVA per square mile (sqm). The first 500 square meters of equipped space and 0.5 MW of customer power started serving for customer installations in June.

Further, 1,500 sqm will start operations by the end of September 2012. The remaining space of 2,500 sqm is planned to come online through March 2013.

The data center opened in London is Interxion’s second data centre in there in the city (LON 2). The space is designed to support continuous customer loads of up to 2.5 kVA per sqm. The first 500 sqm and 0.75 MW of power was made available for customer installations in early July. An additional 400 sqm is scheduled to be available in August, and the remaining 700 sqm will come online by year end 2012.

Interxion recently unveiled a new Cloud Test Lab built on the Eucalyptus platform, designed to help enterprises and systems integrators deploy private and hybrid cloud environments. The Cloud Test Lab is placed at Interxion’s Frankfurt Data Center Campus and is stated to be a free turnkey, proof-of-concept environment, capable of letting hosting providers develop cloud services and virtualized environments for their customers at high speeds and with best-in-class performance guarantees.
