Chenega Logistics (CL) recently selected the Richmond Data Center campus of Quality Technology Services (News - Alert) and will make use of its facilities to host its data center and cloud services clients.
QTS will offer a customized data center location at the extremely protected 1.3 million-square-foot Richmond facility to CL. The speedy contracting skill of CL, its industry-certified professional staff and the extremely safe and sturdy QTS (News - Alert) data center infrastructure will be ideal for federal agencies with regular or multifaceted data center requirements.
“The government-grade physical and logical security offered by the QTS Richmond Data Center was very attractive to Chenega Logistics and enables us to offer robust data center and cloud solutions to our customers,” said Mike Montgomery, president of Chenega Logistics. “As our customers strive to meet the goals of the Federal Data Center Consolidation Initiative or FDCCI, they need hardened, redundant infrastructure to meet their growing compute and security requirements. This agreement provides a secure compound for CL to provide services at scale to customers whose uncertain future needs require the availability of ample power and space to grow into.”
The QTS Richmond Data Center, which complies with each and every Department of Defense anti-terrorism force protection physical requirement, concentrates completely on achieving the TIA (News - Alert) 942 Tier III and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) rules. The physical and logical security of the data center can be leveraged by CL clients with varying security requirements.
The QTS Richmond Data Center offers a 500-foot hold up marked by an energized fence, a visitor selection facility and access-controlled vehicle examination checkpoints with K-12 rated wedge vehicle obstructions.
“We’re gratified that Chenega Logistics has selected QTS to host their technology infrastructure customers at the QTS Richmond Data Center,” said Dan Bennewitz, chief operating officer for Sales and Marketing at QTS. “CL had very strict requirements for their installation. Gaining the trust of such a technology services leader in the federal space and continuing our success in earning the business of government agencies and contractors are meaningful indicators that we will continue to meet our growth objectives in this important sector.”
