Optelian (News - Alert), a company specializing in optical networking solutions, has been addressing the needs of access, metro, long-haul, campus and data center interconnect applications. The company recently formed a new service division to increase the efficiency of product installations and underscore the importance of highest-quality service to its broad customer base.
In connection to this, the company hired industry veteran Glenn Byess to lead its new Optelian Services division out of Optelian's Marietta, GA location.
With more than 22 years of industry experience, Byess has a strong background in optical network installation, test and turn-up.
"Optelian has always been focused on providing excellent customer service,” said Dave Mills (News - Alert), vice president of Sales, Service and Marketing at Optelian. “With Glenn leading our new division, Optelian is now able to offer a broader installation and service experience. Glenn's rich history working with customers such as AT&T and Verizon (News - Alert) demonstrates his high levels of professionalism and technical expertise. We are delighted to have him as part of our team and look forward to growing our service organization with Glenn at the helm."
A company's service really begins once the purchase orders are issued. High-quality ongoing maintenance and service signifies a company that cares for its existing customer base and goes the extra mile. Under the guidance of Byess, Optelian’s new service division will continue to provide and expand the top-notch experience that its clients are used to.
"Smooth installations happen like clockwork – one time in, one time out, and no customer issues. That's what I'm here to reinforce at Optelian," said Byess.
Optelian is known industry-wide for its exceptional product quality, superior customer support, professional services and network design capabilities. Optelian's research, design and manufacturing operations are based in Ottawa, Canada, with sales, service and marketing located in Marietta, GA.
In other news, Optelian revealed that its LightGAIN system has been awarded a MEF (News - Alert) certification for Ethernet Private Line applications. MEF certification provides independent recognition that Optelian LightGAIN systems adhere to Carrier Ethernet standards.
