The City of Concord, CA (News - Alert) has selected Cormant’s DCIM solution, Cormant-CS – formerly called CableSolve – to better inventory, document and hence manage its IT assets and connectivity due to anticipated efficiency from certain work order management along with more granular data and access to historical records.
The City of Concord will be implementing the Cormant DCIM solution during the first quarter of 2013.
City IT operations manager, Doug Elloway sought to consolidate their current management solutions – spreadsheets, visios and an access database – into one single source of data for their two data centers, which support 48 locations with a recently upgraded fiber network and robust virtual environments.
“After researching and evaluating many DCIM solutions, we reached out to Cormant to learn more about their solution,” said Elloway in a statement.
“After reading some relevant case studies of other municipality implementations of the Cormant DCIM solution, we felt it necessary to experience a demo of the Cormant DCIM solution. After the demo, it was clear to us that Cormant’s solution was holistically focused enough to meet our needs and provide exactly what we were looking for,” said Elloway.
Michael Phares, global marketing and business development lead at Cormant, said that Cormant is proud to excel in providing holistic IT infrastructure and connectivity management to various government entities worldwide, and welcomes the City of Concord into the fold of Cormant customers.
Earlier in October, Cormant, Inc. had announced that a recent global banking client acquisition yielded a quick and cost-effective migration from a competitor’s solution to the Cormant DCIM solution. The fear of change due to lengthy, expensive data migration has now been eliminated.
The configurability of Cormant’s DCIM solution allowed the client to consolidate additional spreadsheet-based data and capture additional infrastructure and connectivity information, providing a single repository of information to document and track the infrastructure instead of the multiple silos of information the client was using before.
This efficiency frees staff to focus more on critical responsibilities with great confidence in the data upon which they base pivotal decisions.
