Waze, a free traffic and navigation app, will hereon be available to users from Clarion’s exclusive Smart Access Cloud Server.

Waze is stated to be a free social GPS application featuring turn-by-turn navigation and lets drivers create or use live maps and real-time traffic updates to optimize their travel. The app supposedly gives drivers the ability to navigate to their destinations easily, quickly and securely by connecting them to friends and family. It can also save people time on the road and money on gas.

Clarion Smart Access cloud service is claimed to be the most advanced system in the market that equips drivers with seamless access to services and activities inside their vehicles through in-vehicle smartphone apps.

Allen H. Gharapetian, vice president of marketing at Clarion commented, “We developed our Smart Access Cloud-based system to provide users seamless connectivity and easy access to their favorite apps through their smartphones in a secure and intuitive manner inside their vehicles. We know the future of in-vehicle entertainment depends on how well the vehicle's infotainment system can integrate with not just smartphones but also the users’ habits and expectations when accessing content and activities inside their vehicle. Given that, we have dedicated a great deal of attention to develop technologies and form partnerships with app developers across the globe in order to make sure the in-vehicle infotainment experience is as great and as distraction-free as possible.”

TuneIn, Pandora (News - Alert), Vlingo, MotionX-GPS Drive, INRIX Traffic, Odyssey and Clarion’s exclusive Tweet4car, FB4car and DriveSuite4car are some of the other in-vehicle optimized apps available over the Clarion cloud server. The company stated that more apps will be added to the lineup.

Waze maintained that its navigation app not only lets drivers coordinate among friends via Facebook (News - Alert), it is also home to an active community of online map editors who ensure that the data in their areas is as up-to-date as possible.
