U.K.-based business-class data center provider ,Datum Datacenters recently secured a multiyear contract with Vissensa Limited, an independent systems integrator and managed services provider. This contract will see Datum provide flexible, efficient colocation and data center services at the company's state of the art, purpose-built colocation facility in the QinetiQ (News - Alert) Cody Technology Park in Farnborough.

The company's new flagship datacenter will be officially opened this month and was built to conform to the latest green IT efficiencies, as well as to all other specifications — security, power, cooling, protection and connectivity — necessary for enterprise-class services platforms. Datum partnered with Keysource to begin development of its new data center in the summer of 2012.

"As our business continues to grow, we needed additional facilities outside of the M25," said Mark Jennings, director of Operations at Vissensa, in a statement. "Efficiency and minimising the environmental impact of IT is key to Vissensa and many of the corporate clients who rely on our services, so we needed to select a new data center provider to support our ambitious plans and meet our high standards. Jennings went on to add that Datum was the ideal choice for Vissensa as the two companies share a lot in common, including exceptional client service supported by "pro-active service delivery, service reporting and account management."

Datum's offerings are all backed by an extensive range of supporting services, including a 24/7 manned helpdesk, advanced datacenter infrastructure management (DCIM) and 24/7 technical support and engineering services. In November 2011, the company provided Berks Eye Physicians and Surgeons Ltd with a complete MobileTrak5 filing system to improve its patient record and eye chart filing system.
