The second annual Wireless Backhaul Distinction Awards have been awarded to Andrew Solutions and Comsearch, two businesses from CommScope. The Wireless Backhaul Distinction Award is presented by 4GWE. 4GWE is the website of Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) and Crossfire Media.

According to Carl Ford (News - Alert), co-founder and community developer, Cross Media, the two businesses from CommScope have successfully demonstrated their commitment to innovation towards the 4G wireless evolution. These businesses were therefore chosen as the winners.

In a press release, Ford said, "Andrew and Comsearch deserve acknowledgment for their achievements in advancing 4G and providing solutions in the marketplace. Their antenna products and network planning tools have been proven successes in helping customers solve wireless backhaul challenges."

According to Rich Tehrani, CEO of TMC (News - Alert), the panel of judges has been impressed by the superiority proven by the nominated products from Andrew and Comsearch. Granting this award to these businesses from CommScope has been an honor. Tehrani added that the organization looks forward to more innovative solution from CommScope in the future.

One-meter ValuLine Vision microwave backhaul antenna from Andrew Solutions is one of the winner. High performance in a smaller antenna size is provided by this solution. Radiation pattern performance and gain levels similar to that of 1.2 meter antenna are possible because of the solution’s robust electrical design. ValuLine Vision antenna also complies with the highest regulatory standards.

iQ.linkXG Version 9.1, the next generation microwave planning tool from Comsearch is the other winner. The capacity and modulation can be adjusted according to the quality and performance of the radio channel. Maximum throughput during clear sky conditions can be achieved. At the same time a robust, high-priority voice channel during periods of fading is also maintained.

In a statement, Ted Hally, chief commercial officer of CommScope, said, "We are proud to be recognized twice by 4GWE for our new innovative solutions in helping operators with addressing microwave backhaul requirements. Throughout our company in every part of the world, we are focused on helping our customers evolve their networks efficiently and cost-effectively."

In the November issue of the 4GWE e-newsletter, the winners of the 2010 Wireless Backhaul Distinction Awards were published. This information is also available at the 4GWE website.
