Offering a test solution for emulating real-world network impairments, Ixia (News - Alert) has introduced 40GE ImpairNet.
According to Ixia, ImpairNet offers density 1GE, 10GE, and 40GE test module which help the companies in emulating real-life network impairments. The features offered by these test modules include improved ease-of-use and measurement accuracy, and scaling. These features will be helpful for applications that run over the WAN network and the product also provides additional features such as integration with traffic generation, protocol emulation and analysis, the company stated in a press release.
“The evolution of data centers to cloud computing, and the increased traffic demands, requires faster 40GE links in order to meet user needs. Comprehensive testing to ensure the performance of mission-critical applications over these links is crucial," said Tara Van Unen, senior manager, market development at Ixia. "Ixia provides the only testing solution that combines traffic generation, network emulation, and WAN impairment over 40GE HSE in a single, cost-effective platform.”
Many of the data center clouds are looking to use Higher Speed Ethernet (HSE) connections as there is a huge demand for network bandwidth. With the help of 40GE ImpairNet module, user will be allowed to control traffic flows with reusable classifier and impairment profiles. Ixia has also integrated this product with its StatViewer, which enables the users to spot and analyze various traffic issues. It also helps the network administrators to better understand the performance of their network and offer improved services.
In 2009, the company
signed a definitive agreement to acquire Catapult Communications (News
