Telx, a provider of interconnection and data center services North American markets, announced that VoicePulse (News - Alert) has selected Telx as its trusted colocation partner at its SSAE 16-compliant data center in San Francisco.

The carrier-neutral, connection-rich data center service from Telx gives VoicePulse enhanced network connectivity, improving the audio quality of VoicePulse's VoIP for residential, wholesale and carrier customers.

Telx’s carrier-neutral environment gives VoicePulse a competitive advantage by helping the company quickly and cost-effectively connect to new carriers and to other businesses, company officials said. This partnership with carriers can provide low network latency for enhanced VoIP quality.

Telx provides redundant backup systems to eliminate network downtime and increase reliability of the company's VoIP network. Telx collocation service enables VoicePulse to provision new carrier connections in a few hours as opposed to several days or weeks.

"Leasing directly from Telx makes it easier to directly connect to carriers of our choice," said Ravi Sakaria, CEO, VoicePulse, in a statement. "Previously, provisioning was difficult because we had to deal with a 'middle man,' and that meant additional time, higher costs, and delays in launching new services to our customers.”

Telx hosts VoicePulse's VoIP services on high performance, highly redundant servers to ensure uninterrupted service and a highly secure environment for its customers' mission-critical operations. Telx's data center at 200 Paul Avenue in San Francisco, an interconnection center in Northern California, is seismically rated for protection against earthquakes.

The facility is also compliant with or exceeds the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) industry standards, as well as being compliant with SSAE 16 guidelines for access controls and physical security, company officials said.

VoicePulse is also planning to explore Telx collocation opportunities at 60 Hudson in New York as they expand their service and collocation strategy.

"Telx welcomes VoicePulse to our global ecosystem of the world's top-tier telecom providers at 200 Paul Avenue," said Eric Shepcaro (News - Alert), CEO of Telx, in a statement. "Telx's secure, redundant environment enables VoicePulse to eliminate risk of VoIP network downtime, enabling VoicePulse to raise the bar for network performance and customer satisfaction."

Back in September, Telx announced partnership with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) enabler Hexagrid (News - Alert). The partnership is expected to deliver streamlined hosted private cloud solutions to managed service providers (MSPs) and enterprise colocation customers in all 15 Telx Cloud Connection Centers.
