NTS (News - Alert) stated that it expanded its fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) network into Lamesa, Texas after contracting its first customer there. This expansion is supposed to reach 19 new communities in Texas and Louisiana taking the company’s FTTP passings to more than 50,000.

NTS, a provider of high speed broadband services, stated that with NTS being a non-ILEC telecommunications network, Fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) platform enables a company to provide a voice, video and data “triple play” offering to customers. It provides one of the fastest internet connections with high speed broadband voice and video.

Along with Lamesa, the FTTP network has also been expanded into the towns of Lubbock, Levelland, Smyer, Wolfforth, Littlefield, Burkburnett, Brownfield, Whitharral, Slaton, Wilson and Meadow, Texas. The expansion of the fiber network was funded by using federal broadband stimulus of $100 million which enables them to reach over 30,000 customers.

“During the past year we have made excellent progress expanding the reach of our FTTP Network to underserved communities in Texas and we are pleased to have the opportunity to bring our high speed broadband voice, video and internet offerings to Lamesa. We continue to see strong adoption rates as customers recognize the value and convenience of our high speed bandwidth. Consumers are increasingly reliant on the internet; both in residential and business applications, and the speed and accessibility of our network meets their expectations. We look forward to bringing advanced broadband to more customers in Lamesa in the coming weeks”, stated Guy Nissenson, Chairman, President and CEO of NTS, in a press release.

NTS claimed that it has always operated on the belief that if it operates with the highest degree of integrity and business ethics, offer quality communications products and do so at competitive rates, it will achieve its goal of always exceeding customers’ expectations.
