Calix (News - Alert), Inc. recently announced that Symphonet Sdh Bhd (Symphonet) has chosen the Calix E7-2 Ethernet Service Access Platform (ESAP) to help in the roll-out of its new high speed broadband networks, which will take place in Kuala Lumpur and Johore Bahru. Symphonet Sdh Bhd is the Malaysian communications service provider for Calix, Inc.
In a release, Dato' Baharum Salleh, CEO of Symphonet said, "We have a very clear vision of what we want to offer our customers, especially for the business sector, in terms of performance and quality of service. Calix was able to demonstrate to us that their solution will deliver on that vision cost-effectively and with a good return on investment. The modular nature of the solution ideally fits our business model in terms of building our subscriber base and we are delighted that this will be a highly reliable, flexible, and manageable solution."
These specialized networks will leverage point-to-point gigabit Ethernet technology over fiber to provide advanced broadband services that will include Internet Protocol Television (IPTV (News - Alert)), on-demand video and internet speeds that reach up to 10 gigabits per second (10 Gbps). The service will be offered to businesses in the cities of Kuala Lumpur and Johore Bahru.

Symphonet is one of the upcoming and innovative telecommunications and Internet service providers in Malayisa and will now leverage the new Calix-enabled service offerings to provide superfast speeds and performance to its growing database of customers. Now, Symphonet's subscribers will be able to avail some of the fastest broadband services available in Asia.
